Project: South Scarle I

An ongoing programme of energy efficiency measures to a Grade II listed 15th Century Yeoman’s Farmhouse in a Conservation Area in rural Nottinghamshire.  Where possible the existing building’s fabric has been highly insulated to reduce energy consumption.  Excess electricity beyond the owners needs is being generated through an array of solar panels installed on an adjacent outbuilding.  Future plans are for a ground source heat pump and energy recovery to remove the current, expensive oil powered central heating.
